The Greenery Garden, designed by Vivid Design won Gold and Best in Show at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show this year.
Elegant, functional, wonderfully planted and beautiful, this garden is one most gardeners would love to own.
The garden is designed in four very clearly defined spaces, each with their own variation of a theme.
First there is the working garden. So elegant it really took me a while to realise this is a veggie and picking garden.
Look at the herbs, olive trees, artichoke plants interspersed with flowers to pick for the house. Set out with the very formal central path and little hedges defining edges and entrances this blend of informal and formal is a delight.
Next along is the entertainment area. The pergola defines a seating space with table and room for a barbeque
The view from here to either side really shows how the different parts of the garden are integrated through planting and use of materials
The third part of the garden is the pool.
The planting changes here with small flowering shrubs. Classical plants such as Viburnum and Heuchera Jasmine and small Magnolias are overplanted in what appears to be a carefully arranged higgledy piggedly mess off-set the very structured form of the garden.
